In these days of technological advancement how lucky are we to have such luxuries as live-streaming of breed judging and I am sure the efforts of those who film are appreciated by the majority of viewers. However, I have to say that was appalled to see some of the comments made by viewers on Facebook who may, or may not, have been present on the day. I am an experienced judge with thick skin, but I wonder how such comments would have affected a first-time championship show judge if they had been subjected to similar abuse? This could have ruined the highlight of their judging career and possibly put them off judging for life, not to mention the devastating effect it must have on the owners of the winning dogs! People should think twice before making public comments on individual judges and also acquaint themselves with the Kennel Club Code of Conduct when it comes to Social Media Activity. Remember your names are there for all to see! Notwithstanding the above, I did feel that there was a very nice atmosphere ringside and I thoroughly enjoyed judging the Breed. |
