I would like to thank the Welsh Kennel Club for the invitation to judge today and the exhibitors for their entries and sportsmanship acceptance of my decisions on the day . The exhibits were well presented on the whole however I do feel that mouths seem to have deteriorated and need to be watched in future breeding programs . A few exhibits had very short ribs and a few slab sided which for a Shih Tzu is wrong you need a long strong barrel shaped rib cage to contain all the organs . Movement on the whole has improved since I last judged but some exhibits I feel need more exercise to strengthen back ends. Breed type needs watching I find a varied assortment the Shih Tzu is a strong proud little dog and we must not lose that in the future
My thanks to the exhibitors who accepted my decisions sportingly on the day . On the whole presentation was good but I felt in some cases coat may have been more important than exercise to some, Shih Tzu should be allowed to run free muscle tone was lacking in some. In some classes first and second stood out but I found it harder to place below this. On the whole I felt the quality of the breed was not as good as when I have previously judged
I would like to thank the exhibitors who made it to the show in such dreadful weather conditions. A big well done to the organising committee for all their hard work in transferring the rings to the undercover building a bit cramped for grooming but good sized rings. The quality of some exhibits varied in size and type but on the whole presentation was excellent. Flat tails spoiled some exhibits but, on the whole, a very pleasing entry quality wise. Shame that we only have one first prize on the day.

exhibitors for a lovely entry and excellent presentation on
the whole, also thier sportsmanship and the friendly
atmosphere around the ring on the day, so lacking at some
