It was great to get back to some sort of normality and the Show was held in an ideal venue with spacious rings and excellent lighting. My thanks to the hard working Committee and to my very efficient ring stewards and to the exhibitors for their sportsmanship. The entry of 90 was considered excellent by the Committee. I found that size, overall balance, mouths, toplines, coats and temperament were excellent but on the negative size the first to get my attention was the difficulty to find the correct broad skull, large eyes and big noses that help to give the head the chrysanthemum like appearance. Hindquarters were OK but the lack of muscle tone affected the correct movement we expect, also quite a few lacked the spring of ribs expected. |

First of all, I would like to apologise for the delay in writing and sending this report. I flew out of the country the day after judging and was away for more than six weeks, returning home with a nasty infection that still hasn’t totally cleared. I enjoyed judging the breed and in some classes the quality was very high. I found quite a few of the exhibits were lacking muscle tone and so that had influence in their movement. There are also still some problems with tail carriage. Temperaments were excellent and only a few lacked the correct width of mouth. |

I had some excellent exhibits. Toplines, temperaments and condition were in general ok. Fronts and tail carriage are still a problem, but I was surprised to find quite a few males that looked like females and also a number of exhibits heads and eye shapes were quite disappointing with narrow skulls, long muzzles and small eyes. |

I had a good day judging one of my favourite breeds. I have noticed that the number of entries have gone down quite a bit. I found some excellent exhibits and I was pleased with the class winners. In some classes the placing’s could change on another day as some of the exhibits I liked were lacking muscular tone, (I guess the awful weather we’ve had of late had something to do with this), and so, movement was affected. Temperaments were excellent. |
