based on what they saw on the day of the show.

I’d like to thank the officers and committee of Bournemouth CA for inviting me to award Challenge Certificates for the first time. Thank you to every exhibitor who entered and gave me the pleasure of judging their dogs. The weather conditions were far from ideal for showing a coated breed, with gales howling through the tents and pouring rain outside. However, everyone coped remarkably well, and the dogs took it all in their stride. Some general observations from the day, which echo my observations from my previous appointment, were that some exhibits were lacking the required depth and width to chest. In the main, heads were good, although I’d emphasise how important dark, large round eyes are in creating the warm expression we look for. All dogs were of a good temperament. Overall, the quality of the entry was high, and I was delighted with my main winners.
