|Firstly, I have to thank everyone for the super entry for the show. I found presentation greatly improved however we must be careful not to overlook breed type for a flashy animal. I have often said I would love to see all the dogs dripping wet! Since I last judged in the UK. Solids are more prevalent especially the blacks which have long been overlooked in my opinion. I did find some exhibits over long which spoils the balance (this was at one time a common fault with solids) heads need to be watched as the Shih Tzu is renowned to have a good strong head with round dark eyes (some tend to have opal eyes (Lhasa like) which spoils the expression. Mouths have improved greatly but should not be the be all and end as when judging the whole picture has to be assessed. Quite a few flat & curly tails seem to be creeping in do watch this as it spoils the overall balance when stacked and outline on the move.|
