This critique reflects the judge's opinion
based on what they saw on the day of the show.

This was a show I had looked forward to for several years and it lived up to expectations with a very good numerical entry and there was plenty of quality in the classes- notably the junior classes and Limit bitch and the two open classes. Sad that there were no dog puppies present. I was pleased with the majority of the mouths- wide lower jaws and a full complement of teeth in a line. The presentation was generally of a high standard but there were a few exhibits which were not in show condition and smelled of urine. Many thanks to my steward Hilary Norbury and to secretary Pat Gregory and her hard-working team who made me feel very welcome. BEST IN SHOW the dog CC winner CH WARATHWAITE THE KINGSLAYER and reserve CC winner MIFCAHS THE KING AND I took the RESERVE BEST IN SHOW award with his movement over the CC winning bitch CH MIDDLETUNE FLAME OF GOLD. BEST PUPPY SASSYSHI CAKE BY THE OCEAN WITH SHIRKEIRA- who is full of type and quality BEST VETERAN was the dog CH JAQUITA LETS GO ANDY- and he certainly did; his movement, showing full rear pads and his arrogance, both standing and moving is so typical of the breed.

Junior Dog
1stMiddletune Blazzin Saddles JWGood class for depth of quality, 12-month-old appealed for his balance and his head and eye. Moved very well with good carriage. Scored in his finish of muzzle and lips to win this. Perfect bite.
2ndThaisu Morningstar Avec Kimevan JW12-month-old caught the eye immediately for his carriage and movement. Good skull and foreface and lovely eyes. Just needs a little more finish of lip, full of type and quality. Excellent tail carriage.
ResEthelsmead True Grit17-month-old gold and white, reserve in junior class. Sturdy and well boned but he could be a touch shorter for perfect balance and this shows in his topline. Good eyes. Could have a little more finish to muzzle. Moved well at both ends. A lot to like about him.
VHCKeola Driving Force JW14-month-old beautifully presented brindle and white who is a teenager in the body and needs to drop in chest. Good skull and eye. He can tighten up in front action, tail carriage a little flat.

2ndMiddletune Billy The Kid16-month-old gold – I liked his size and balance but his tail is low set which detracts from his topline. I liked his head, eye and has big nostrils. Coat texture could be better.

1stEthelsmead Bak To The Future Of Chanikos14-month-old black, a little long for balance and this shows in his topline on the move. Good skull and dark eyes. Good nostrils. Could be longer in his ribcage.

1stQuingshui Auroras Busy Man20-month-old gold and white in very full coat which detracts a little from his outline. Good skull, large dark eyes. Needs a little more chin. 2ndHin Chen’s Genesio23-month-old gold and white with eye catching carriage and movement. Small but well boned and his front and rear assembly allow him to move with reach and he shows full pads.
