Full Critique for Driffield 2019

based on what they saw on the day of the show.
| My first CC appointment was so wonderful from beginning to end and for which I thank Mr Martin Freeman, Hon. Secty. and his Committee for believing in me and sticking with me for the two years for until my appointment was approved. Such a hard working and supportive Committee and a show in a lovely setting. Thank you to all those who entrusted me with their lovely dogs, many of which really put me to the test with such high quality. Overall I found good construction and movement with many well balanced exhibits, even though there was a real mix of type. Topline and tailset I found with those present had improved and depth, spring and length of rib also improving. For me for the future width of skull, lower jaw, muzzle and dentition needs monitoring as some exhibits did not have that round head with padding over the muzzle and enough width in the lower jaw for teeth to lay straight. Eye conformation also in some was small and more oval than round which detracts from the requirements of our Standard and the open features and melting expression one seeks. I feel very fortunate in finding my special dogs for top awards, but also frustrated that some very worthy exhibits went without even though they would have fitted the wording on the CC. | Minor Puppy Dog | ||
| 1st | Tameron Mr Pure Xcess | At just 7 months this outgoing confident puppy really owned the ring. Lovely to go over with a good balanced outline. I liked the length of neck into well laid shoulders. A good handful of forechest. He has a strong body, well ribbed, good spring and length. Really enjoyed watching this youngster who has excellent reach and driving action. Bang on topline and tailset. Pleased to award him BPIB |
| 2nd | Mayofox Matisse | Very smart little black and white puppy. He covered the ring well, lacked a little in confidence but on the whole he shows potential moving with good balance. He is finer than No.1 but still maturing. Good neck and topline, giving a pleasant overall outline. |

| 1st | Jardhu Lord Of Fire And Ice | 11 months, gold and white of correct size, with a good strong body, ribbing up nicely. Angulation balanced front and rear and a good return of stifle. Skull of good size and shape, nice padding over the muzzle. Overall best balance in this class standing and moving with a good level topline and correct tailset. Nice typey puppy. |
| 2nd | Debeaux Obsession | 11 months black and white, larger and another strong boy. Good lay of shoulder into a well ribbed body. Lots to like especially in his movement, good reach and drive, well balanced, he just eats up the ground. He scored highly in width of jaw, muzzle and dentition. |

| 1st | Ch. Debeaux Having A Ball | Outstanding solid black youngster just under 18 months old but full of potential and exciting to watch. Well balanced, standing and moving, lovely outline showing classic reach and drive. Excellent in skull, good length of neck sweeping into well laid shoulder. He is sound in body, well sprung and good length of rib, bang on topline and tailset. So many plus points, one of my line up who pushed hard for top awards. A very bright future whose time will come. |
| 2nd | Rossvale Eclipse Of The Sun | Just a year old solid gold boy who really catches the eye. He has the most wonderful classic expression, beautiful eyes in a lovely headpiece. Nice arch and length of neck into a level topline. Good body well sprung rib and nice overall balance and shape. He is well angulated with good bend of stifle giving him a balanced movement showing strong driving action. |

| 1st | Kezang Golden Idol | 4 year old gold and white medium sized boy in good condition. He has good bone and is well muscled. A very nice typical expression in a round skull with good width all through. He is nicely balanced with topline held well on the moved. He moved well showing full pad going away. Immaculately presented and handled. |
| 2nd | Buttons Dream A Dream | A medium sized solid gold boy of 2 years. He has a nice headpiece, good skull and well placed eyes. Presented in good condition, strong muscle over the rib and loin helping to keep his topline in a longer body. Tailset good and moved okay for the most part. I would like to see some work done on keeping his head up on the move which would present a more balanced picture. |

| 1st | Warathwaite King Int North De Jardhu | 23 months old lovely young dog with a very nice outline both standing and on the move. Excellent round headpiece, well padded muzzle, good jaw and dentition. Scores well in length of neck, forechest, well let down. Good spring of rib and loin. He moves well showing full pads. |
| 2nd | Daltricia Arapaho at Delmarvey | 23 months old gold and white who has a good muzzle and dentition. Good in forechest well let down. Good outline balance of head, neck and tail. He was a little unsteady moving at first but on the whole covered the ground well. |

| 1st | Shihmali Victorious | 3 year old gold and white with a lovely head, good neck and moderate lay of shoulder. Good bone and construction strong rear angulation. He scores well on topline and tailset giving overall good balance standing and on the move showing a good driving action. |
| 2nd | Rossvale Here Comes The Sun over Fairmere | A beautifully presented 2 year old gold and white boy groomed to perfection. He is a good solid boned dog over his body good with spring of rib. Strong on rear angulation with good bend of stifle. He has a lovely round head with beautiful eyes, nose placement and muzzle giving a lovely expression. I would like a like more rise from his nose into the skull. Covers the ground well stronger in the rear showing full pad. |
| Res | Buttons Dream A Dream | A medium sized solid gold boy of 2 years. He has a nice headpiece, good skull and well placed eyes. Presented in good condition, strong muscle over the rib and loin helping to keep his topline in a longer body. Tailset good and moved okay for the most part. | 1st | Ch. Jacquinta Lets Go Andy JW | A very handsome 3 year old gold and white boy with many points to impress. Headpiece having a broad skull, lovely expressive eyes. Good wide jaw with excellent dentition. Broad deep chest, strong well sprung rib into form coupling. Very good rear angulation with excellent bend of stifle. Bang on topline and tailset. Well balanced movement just ate up the ground. Another who just missed out on top honours. |
| 2nd | Ch. Ashmakin Bodacious Smooth for JaxTzu JW ShCM ShCEX | Solid gold who at 3 years is in top condition and groomed to perfection. He is strong in body and well balanced front and rear going over him and in his movement. A good spring of rib and strong loin. He presents a very nice outline, beautifully handled. In the end I preferred the head and expression of No. 1 |

| 1st | Ch. Carlita Reason To Dream JW ShCM | So now he was everything I was looking for from head to tail to toe, one of those who keeps you looking back again and again. At almost 4 years old he is at the top of his game. Presented immaculately and in strong condition. Such a beautiful melting expression in a lovely round skull, well padded muzzle and good width to jaw altogether giving us a fabulous head. He has an elegant sweep of neck into a good lay of shoulder and a level topline. Front and rear angulation in concurrence, well balanced allowing him a superb free flowing movement. He just held my attention and I could watch him all day. Delighted to award him the DCC and BOB. |
| 2nd | Ch. Miracey Zero Hour | Just over 2 years old, another fabulous gold and white male of excellent merits. Much of the critique of the winner of the class also applies here, in particular a strong skull with good width across eyes and jaw with a well padded muzzle. He is also strong in lay of shoulder topline and tailset a real quality boy. He moves with ease doesn’t put a foot wrong, covering the ground economically. He gained a well deserved RDCC. |

| 1st | Ch. Miracey Hotter Than Hell at Meilijo JW | This solid gold at 8 years is in top condition. Scores highly in balance both standing and moving, displaying good reach and drive. His head is exceptional with open features, lovely shape and size of eyes. He has a wealth of coat and beneath it a good length of neck into well laid shoulders, good handful of forechest, body and topline, finished of with correct set on of tail. For me he has classic breed type and a well deserved champion. BVIB |
| 2nd | Lyndatzu Chalone | 7 year old gold and white boy with correct skull, jaw and excellent dentition. Good bone throughout with good angulation front and rear giving him enough reach and drive to cover the ground economically. Very balanced outline level topline, held well on the move with a beautiful tailset. Beautifully put down and handled well. |

| 1st | Honeyshuchun Star Goddess | Gold and white girl who at 7 months is so full of promise. Very classic Shih Tzu head and what a beautiful feminine expression. Everything comes together well with front and rear angulation well balanced and this is seen through her movement. Just in the correct proportions for me on height and length, strong topline and good spring of rib into good tailset. She is maturing nicely. BPB who just lost out BP to the confidence of the male puppy. |
| 2nd | Jacquinta Gifted To Laurmerand | 8 months old a very pretty little solid black who presents a lovely outline. Scores highly in topline and tailset and gives a balanced movement, exhibiting good reach and drive. She has a good strong skull and a beautiful expression with lovely round dark eyes. She is maturing well scoring high in soundness of bone and angulation. Showing lots of promise. |
| Res | Ashmakin Red Is The Rose At Jaxtzu (IKC) JW | 8 month old bitch of smaller, finer type. Solid gold with a black mask and a fabulous cheeky expression. Very confident baby and so well balanced on the move. She scores well in topline and tailset. She is still developing and has some filling out to do. |

| 1st | Ch. Warathwaite Royal Diva | At just 9 months this young bitch shows lots of promise. Presented in a big baby coat. Beneath I was pleased to find a good firm body, well made construction and plenty of substance. Scores highly in rib and coupling, topline and tailset. Excellent angulation allowing for a good balanced movement. Plenty of promise here for the future. |

Very confident baby and so well balanced on the move. She scores well in topline and tailset. She is still developing and has some filling out to do. |

| 1st | Debeaux Sweet Chilli JW | At just a year old she is of excellent quality and has matured beautifully. A real eye catcher with a beautiful soft expression. Such a wonderful skull with excellent bite. Well balanced, good structure front and rear with excellent bend of stifle allowing very smooth economical movement. She has loads of energy and keeps her handler on her toes. Particularly liked the balance of neck to tailset. She must have an excellent future ahead. |
| 2nd | Debeaux Perpetual Bliss | At 16 months this black and white girl scores highly in all the same areas as No.1 and is consistent with the sound quality produced from this kennel name. She is so well balanced with excellent tailset and reach of neck. Body well ribbed and strong into coupling. So it was difficult to separate these two very good exhibits, in the end I slightly preferred the expression of No. 1 |
| 3rd | Suzitzu Lady Maria For Casamays | Gold and white of medium size, she has a pleasing expression in a good skull, muzzle and bite. She is sound throughout and well balanced fore and aft in angulation. She holds her topline and tailset well on the move and covers the ground well. |

| 1st | Tejayse Beautiful Trauma | Gold and white lovely young bitch with a good front. Well balanced, topline and tailset. Neat little head with a beautiful expression. | 1st | Ch. Paliden Bucks Fizz To Ekland JW | 22 months old quality bitch, gold with a black mask. Fabulous expression with beautiful dark round eyes. Nicely balanced little bitch with good angulation front and rear allowing for smooth, economical movement. Whilst she is a smaller type everything is in the correct order throughout, scoring most highly is the headpiece. |
| 2nd | Suzitzu Lady Maria For Casamays | Gold and white of medium size, she has a pleasing expression in a good skull, muzzle and bite. She is sound throughout and well balanced fore and aft in angulation. She holds her topline and tailset well on the move and covers the ground well. |

| 1st | Peekin Miss Jive-Bunny-Tu | At just over 2 years this little gold and white girl is a real eye catcher. A nice size for a bitch with plenty of plus points. Beautiful feminine expression, lovely eyes and good shape of skull. She has a nicely arched neck flowing into a strong topline and correct tailset. Good overall balance front and rear angulation with a very nice bend of stifle allowing smooth and economical movement. Very promising just needs finish on her furnishings. |
| 2nd | Ch. Centastage Just Imagine | Gold and white with an excellent head and lovely round dark eyes Well padded muzzle and excellent bite. Strong body with good rib and coupling confirming a level topline. When settled she moved around the ring very well showing full pads. |

| 1st | Ch. Tsantha Adornment | A wonderful 3 year old gold and white bitch who exudes breed type. Such a wonderful round head and an expression to die for. She is ultra feminine. A good strong neck, plenty of forechest and well let down into brisket. She is well sprung in rib and ribbed back into a good firm loin. Bang on topline and tailset. Just the right height to length ratio for me. So sound in movement, balanced and excellent driving action. This topped off with a fabulous coat and handled so professionally. BCC and BOS |
| 2nd | Ch. Bishbow Summer Breeze | 2 year old black and white who also displays excellent breed type. She has the excellent points stated for No.1. This bitch ticks so many boxes that it was very hard to separate the two. Excellent strong bone, good well sprung rib into firm loin. She covered the ring with ease, put down beautifully by her handler. I could only separate these two top scoring bitches with a preference for the expression of the winner. I was still pleased to award her the RBCC |

| 1st | Ch. Miracey Fruity Kisses | 8 year old gold and white who is still so beautiful and holds your attention. She has not lost any of her wonderful outline showing herself to perfection. A pleasure to go over where I found her still to be in firm condition. She has such a feminine head and one of the best every expressions I have seen, with just that little element of aloofness. Good skull, muzzle and bite. Moving she is well balanced, neck, topline and tailset all correct. I was spoiled for choice today in my final line up and just didn’t have enough cards to go around. |
| 2nd | Rossvales Latest Model | 4 year old gold and white another top quality bitch with a lovely head and beautiful round dark eyes and a very superior expression. I really like the outline and found good angulation front and rear. Level topline and very nice tailset. Strong little body well sprung and firm in coupling. She moved well showing full pad. A different type to No.1 and again displaying so many breed points. |

Excellent headpiece, lovely expression. So many plus points on construction including a well rounded rib and strong loin. |
| 2nd | Tansingh Angel and Demon | 10 years old gold and white still in good body condition and fit. A real good handful of fore chest and very nice tailset amongst her plus points. Very pretty and yet mischievous expression. Movement not as fluid as No.1 |
