Full Critique for Extra Champ Show STCSWWC 2022

This critique reflects the judge's opinion
based on what they saw on the day of the show.
| I would like to thank the committee for the kind invitation to judge at their club show, also to my efficient stewards Tony and Mike for all their help. A big thank you to all those exhibitors who entered under me and stayed for the second show. It’s been a little over 4 years since I last judge and the breed has changed since then. We seem to be losing breed type, with heads and eyes getting smaller, no width throughout with single tracking behind. We also have a variety of sizes at present which isn’t good for the breed as a whole. Mouths have improved on a whole but the standard calls for width of jaw not how straight the teeth are. Noses are also getting longer in this comes the change of expression and lack of arrogance the breed calls for. As breeders we need to keep the attributes this breed is known for as there will be a point where the breed will change forever, with no turning back. Selecting the correct dog or bitch is not always easy but we still have some excellent types at present. |

| 1st | Ch. Zeeva Cool Dude | Minor Puppy In this class there were 3 very nice puppies a variety to size and all at different stages in growth. At nearly 8 months old gold and white, this baby is well schooled in showing not putting a foot wrong. He has a nice head and very sweet expression, dark eye, good dentition. Good length of neck, good spring of rib, good depth to chest, shoulders need to tighten a little which I am sure they will as he grows, he has substance moved well round the ring. Well presented in good jacket. BPD, BPIB, BPIS. |
| 2nd | Santosha Storm Caller | A striking black and white at just 6 months very much the baby of the class. A lovely head and expression, ear and eyes correctly set, good dentition in a wide jaw. Strong neck into good lay of shoulder, deep chest, good substance throughout. Good tail set carried over his back just needs to settle a little more. |

| 1st | Peekin Reggie Rebel-Tu | A lovely golden white puppy at nearly a year old stood alone. This young boy has a wonderful head, with large round dark eyes, good dentition, strong neck leading into good lay of shoulder, deep chest, good bone and substance throughout. Good tail set and carriage. Moved showing full pad, with nice reach and drive Another that was a little unsettled in the challenge. |

| 1st | Santosha Excalibur | Another class where all 3 were at different stages of development. At slightly smaller but a nice young male at just over a year old, good head and expression, with dark eyes and good dentition. Good lay of shoulder, nice depth and width to chest, good spring of rib. Level top line, moved soundly showing full pad, would have preferred a slightly better carriage. |
| 2nd | Peekin Jazz-A-Matazz-Tu | At not yet a year old he is litter brother to my 2nd in minor puppy with many of the same qualities of his brother, another puppy with a great head piece, good dentition, sturdy body with good tail set and carriage. I just preferred the shorter leg of first. |

| 1st | Ch. Cremefern Trigger A Storm At Symaraju JW | At nearly two years old a nice gold and white young man. A nice head with soft expression, dark eyes, good width to jaw, good length of neck leading into shoulders, nice depth and width to chest, good length and spring of rib, short loin, tail set could be higher but moved soundly showing full pads. |
| 2nd | Marhilway Driving Edge At Jacquinta JW | Aged 18 month old dark gold and white male. Slightly taller and bigger than my 1st place He is another that scores in head piece with round dark eyes, good wide dentition, strong neck, nice shoulder placement, good depth and width of chest, good spring and length of rib, well muscled legs, covered the ground with ease showing full pad. |

| 1st | Ch. Paliden Simply A Star With Wharfeview | At nearly 3 years old this solid gold male has a lot to like and scored in many breed attributes. He has a lovely head and expression, dark eyes set well apart, good width to jaw. Strong arched neck leading into good shoulder placement. Good depth to chest, good length and spring of rib, good depth throughout. Strongly muscled he moved with purpose covering the ground well holding a level top line showing full pad. Good tail set. In the challenge he lost out for RBIS to the BCC on grooming and overall presentation. A male which if carefully used could benefit the breed. |
| 2nd | Corrlough By My Side At Maitreya | A 3 year old pale gold and white male different to my class winner in style. He has a nice head and expression, dark round eyes, good dentition, good length to neck, nice depth and with to front, good length of rib, good tail set. A little reluctant and less confident to move today. |

Another male with a good head and expression good nose and ear placement, dark round eyes, good jaw with good dentition, good length of neck leading into good lay of shoulder, good depth and width to chest, good spring and length to rib, level top line, well muscled legs, nice bone and substance, good tail set and carriage, covered the ground with good reach. In beautiful jacket and handled to perfection. Strongly considered for RCC I just preferred the substance on the Postgraduate Dog |

Warathwaite The Kingslayer (Bel,Lux, UK) | At 3 years old a slightly taller male who scores in head, round eyes correctly set, correct width to jaw, strong neck leading into nice shoulders, good depth and width to chest, correct length of rib, good bone throughout, good tail set. Showed full pad on the move. |

| 1st | Ch. Mifcahs The King And I JW (Dk,Nor,Swe,No,Int) | So correctly named. At just 3 years old male who I have liked since I saw him as a puppy. Still a young boy who has had so many excellent comments said about him. For me he has so much breed type qualities he can’t be denied, on going over him he lived up to everything I hoped for. On first look you see a beautiful profile with a gorgeous head piece and correct tail set and carriage shown and presented in a quality jacket. Beautiful large round dark eyes set correctly, correct nose and ear placement, correct width to jaw. Strong neck leading into good lay of shoulders, short straight legs, good width and depth to chest, well sprung ribs with good length, short loin, good substance, bone and width throughout, correct tail set and carriage. This young dog comes into his own on the move covered the ground easily with a level top line with strong reach and drive showing full pad. A pleasure to award him his 6th DCC. In the challenge for BOB, he came in to his own showing his air of superiority over us all, moving round the ring like a King. This young male has so many breed attributes that if used in a breeding program should pass on so many of the qualities the breed is losing so quickly. DCC, BOB, BIS. |

Good length of neck leading into nice lay of shoulders, good depth to chest. Good spring and length of rib, good top line, shown and presented in a good jacket. Covered the ring showing full pad. Lots to like just preferred the breed attributes of class winner. |

| 2nd | Ch. Rossvale Little Black Dress | Smaller in type to 1st. A very pretty 15 month black and white lady. Nice head with a lovely arrogant expression, round dark eyes, good nose placement, good dentition, nice neck and lay of shoulder. Sound throughout just in a smaller package. Today not as settled on the move. |
| 3rd | Tzusweet Black Pearl | A very pretty 15 month old black lady. Another with lots to like about her. Very pretty girl with a good head, round dark eyes, correct nose placement, good dentition good depth throughout, moves well with nice reach and drive showing full pad. Shown well by handler just needs a tad more furnishing to complete the picture. Solids coats sometimes need a tad bit longer to come but this does not distract from her qualities. |

| 2nd | Thaisu Touched By An Angel For Kimevan | A stunning solid black girl. At just over 18 months old, she has a lot to like. Very pretty girl with a good head, dark eyes, correct nose placement. Well developed for age with good width throughout. A nice tail set shown in beautiful coat, covered the ring with ease. Sadly, was not on her best behaviour for her mum today. |

| 1st | Ch. Warathwaite Royal Diva | A gold and white lady at just over 3.5 years old. She has a lovely head and expression, dark eyes, nice nose placement, good dentition. Good length of neck into good lay of shoulders, good depth and with to front, good length and depth in spring of rib, level top line held on the move. She has well muscled legs, with a good tail set. Shown in a good jacket. She went well in the class with owner showing full pads as she covered the ring. The handler in the challenge did a great job good handlers can get the best from a dog and this one did. In the challenge against the dog for me had a more free flowing movement and air about him. This young lady has lots to like about her and I am sure will gain her title soon. |

A smaller type but a very attractive head piece with round dark eyes, good dentition, correct nose and ear placement. Good length to neck, nice shoulder placement, chest well let down, good length and depth to ribs, strong muscled legs, good tail set covered the ring showing full pad. |

| 1st | Rossvale Forever Dreaming | At nearly 4 years old this solid lady has many points to like about her. She has a good head with a sweet pretty expression. dark round eyes, good with to jaw, correct nose and ear placement. Another lady with a good length of neck into good lay of shoulders, straight legs, well leg down chest, good length and depth to rib, holds a level top line on the move, with a good tail set, moves round the ring with ease showing full pad, shown in good jacket. Was a bit reluctant in the challenge RCC. |

Marpalyn Phab Gold | Another lovely solid female who at 4 years old had a lot to like, a very pretty head with dark eye, good nose placement, good length of neck, chest well leg down, good length and spring of rib, well muscled legs, shown and presented in good jacket, just preferred the height tail set of class winner. |

| 1st | Thaisu Desperate Housewife for Kimevan | A 7 year old gold and white lady, who has such a wonderful head and expression, large dark round eyes, set well apart, good dentition, good length to neck leading into good lay of shoulders, good depth and width to chest, good length and spring of rib, level top line, good tail set and carriage, strong muscled legs. Covered the ring with ease showing full pad. Another quality girl in the challenge was also a bit reluctant which cost her top honours today. I am sure her 3rd and crowning CC will follow soon. |

Round dark eyes, good depth and substance throughout, well muscled thigh, she motored round the ring show full pads. Beautifully groomed and presented. |
