SuperStakes 2010
It is with regret we announce that the Club will not be holding a SuperStakes final in 2010 and currently has no plans to continue it in future.
The Committee feels that the events, whilst enjoyed by the majority who have attended, haven't succeeded sufficiently
to justify the effort that has to be put into laying them on. Naturally we are disappointed, both that our initiative wasn't as successful as we had hoped and for the exhibitors who did enjoy it, but feel it best to concentrate our efforts on making our other events as attractive as they can be. The Josephine Johnson Top Puppy award will revert back to an annual scoring format similar to it's previous setup and discussions are continuing on whether to create one or more new awards based just on the current year long scoring system.

Tim Williams
We are very sad to report the passing of one of our Vice Presidents, Mrs Tim Williams on Wednesday 13th August. Many of us have lots of fond memories of Tim and recall the many happy moments when she made us smile. Tim's funeral will be held on Wednesday 27th August at 2pm at Guildford Crematorium, Hampshire. It was her wish that no flowers be sent and that, instead, any donations should be made to the Shih Tzu Club.
The Club is honoured that Tim would request donations to be made in this way. We will decide quickly how best to do good with any donations received and will give an update shortly.
RIP Tim, you will be missed.

Summer Open Show
Our 2008 Summer Open Show has attracted an entry of 100 dogs. This is the highest for any of our open shows in recent memory and we are all looking forward to a really enjoyable day. If weather conditions permit we hope to hold this show outside.

Club Supported Charity
Our supported charity for 2008 is the Cinnamon Trust. Cinnamon Trust is the only specialist national charity which seeks to relieve the anxieties, problems, and sometimes injustices, faced by elderly and terminally ill people and their pets, thereby saving a great deal of human sadness and animal suffering.
