I believe there is a rumour going around that I have decided that I will be the "official photographer" for OTL.

Can I confirm that I've never taken this on in any official capacity, that (as far as I'm aware) Adam has not given the job to anyone in any official capacity, and because I don't go to every show it would be impossible for me to accept this kind of position even if I had been asked.

If anyone has been upset or offended by the fact that I've been taking the photographs at Manchester and LKA recently and their nose has been put out of joint, then I'm sorry - I was taking the photographs for my own interest, and although I forwarded them to Adam, it's Adam's decision whether he posts them on the forum or not.

As I was given a new camera for Christmas and it would be a waste of time leaving it in the box, it's up to me where and how I use it - I will continue to take photographs at dog shows I attend, purely for my own interest. I will forward them to Adam to use on OTL if he wants to. If people have a problem with that, then sorry, but that's tough.

Hi Kirsty,

I havent heard anything but it is nice for us at home who dont go to the shows to see pictures of the dogs that win, and also for us that do go its nice to be able to see pictures of the dogs who win and if we are lucky then pictures of our dogs.

Going back a bit I didnt like any pictures of my dogs being taken without my permission as you never had control of them and a few were sold and ended up in calanders abroad, so I think if someone dosent want there picture taken then they should say and I am sure those taking the pictures will be happy not to do so rather than upset anyone, when Sasha was made up I was lucky someone had taken a picture of the judge giving me her 3rd CC, friends had taken photos but that one photo captured the hand over, I didnt know it had been taking until I looked on the internet and saw it, those memories cant be replaced, and you can look back at the pictures and see , but I have no objection to you taking pictures of my dogs Kirsty but I am getting on in years now and if its a digital camera can you make me look a bit younger, say 15 years younger.

Maggie

Aww Kirsty,

I appreciate seeing the photos and am ever so grateful for you taking the time out to take them. Its always nice to see the show photos, as Maggie says, alot of us dont go to the shows.

I can see Maggies point about owners not wanting photos of their dogs being taken , but communicating the objection works wonders in avoiding any arguments!!! So, yes As Maggie stated~ if someone doesnt want there picture taken then they should say and I am sure those taking the pictures will be happy not to do so rather than upset anyone.

I'd like to look 10 years younger in my photos too lol!!!

I just wanted to add that I appreciate all the show photos put on OTL whoever they are taken by.

Official Photographer - nikkihill - 01-22-2007

I agree with everyone else. Not being able to go to the shows myself it is nice to be able to see the pics <img src='http://www.shihtzuclub.co.uk/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/claps.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':C' />

OTL doesn't have an official photographer. We can't afford one.

We have pics of shows from folks kind enough to take the time to take them and send them in, including Marg & Sue, Laura, Kirsty, Me, Emma and several others who get a camera put in their hands and asked to take a few pics <img src='http://www.shihtzuclub.co.uk/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Thank heavens that someone takes a camera and takes some pictures otherwise there would be a few of us completely in the dark. A BIG YHANKYOU to those who make the effort, WHERE WOULD WE BE WITHOUT YOU???? and Dont take any notice of what others say, there are just some people who are never happy unless they are creating trouble for others, they must have too much time on their hands. Your efforts are very much appreciated, keep up the good work <img src='http://www.shihtzuclub.co.uk/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cheers.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> and make me look 20 years younger please

<img src='http://www.shihtzuclub.co.uk/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Come on Pat its going to take her all the time just to fix one photo of me, now I asked first.

I do agree Kirsty should take no notice If we all believed what was said about everybody then we would be driven mad, and I should know I surprise myself all the time without knowing, it can be funny when you hear something you were supposed to do and you didnt know anything about it. but people should remember it can upset and hurt people to.

Just think at least Kirsty is Official Photographer now thats a title

Hi guys

Thanks for all your comments - unfortunately my camera can't take years off anyone, but I've heard that airbrushing does wonders.

It seems that some people may have misunderstood the following comment when we were discussing what we got for Christmas:

Quote:I didn't get any naff pressies either, but I got a fabby new digital SLR camera which does loads of brilliant things - so I'm hoping that I might get the job of official OTL photographer

Now I can't read anywhere that I nominated myself as the official OTL photographer, since the word "might" was in that sentence.

Someone obviously took that comment just a bit too seriously.

But hey ho - we can all misunderstand things can't we <img src='http://www.shihtzuclub.co.uk/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

Now that will upset me and Pat we were looking forward to having those years taken off,

What we have to do is get someone who knows how to do cover ups using airbrush techniques, now Kirsty you could take a course and then Pat and I could look younger and thats got to be better.

Official Photographer - Kengai - 01-23-2007

Maggie, we're supposed to be looking at and admiring the dogs, not the handlers!

But then airbrushing the dogs - is that banned under KC rules? <img src='http://www.shihtzuclub.co.uk/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Official Photographer - DebJon - 01-23-2007

Hmmm got me thinking, one of my dog shampoo's says that it will 'enhance' the coat colour, it doesn't say change, is that what we do with photographs by airbrushing, enhance.....?????? Ohh dodgy ground you lot are on, I'd becareful if I were you, as for me, back in my corner with the Dicitonary, trying to get my head around terminology. Helppppppp!!! Dx

Official Photographer - Kengai - 01-23-2007

"Enhance" is a polite word for airbrushing Debbie. Do you know that Jordan is actually 75 with facial hair and acne? The photographers/picture editors just airbrush it all away. <img src='http://www.shihtzuclub.co.uk/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />
