NORTHERN COUNTIES SHIH TZU CLUB

26TH CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW

3rd April 2010

Judge – Gloria Townsin (Redhall)

A wonderful entry for my first ticket appointment, thank you to all Exhibitors for their entries and to the Committee of NCST Club for their kind invitation to judge their well run and enjoyable Championship Show. It all appeared to work seamlessly.

Observations - Some eyes are too small and almond shape which is wrong for the breed. Hind movement is a problem in a few dogs, they should not single track and a few showed no pad going away at all. The breed calls for a sturdy dog and while it doesn’t mean they have to be as wide as they are high it does mean not light of bone and/or narrow. The breed needs to guard against losing bone for if it does it will never get it back.

However, my winning exhibits were of good breed type and quality and in a couple of classes there were some good dogs who were card-less on the day.
