This was my first appointment at this level and I had been looking forward to judging this lovely and interesting breed for some time. The weather conditions on the day really conspired agents us. As the day wore on, the ground got more muddy, the rain fell harder and it was impossible to keep the dogs looking at their best. Most of the bitches just hated the ground and therefore movement was not easy to assess. My overall impression on the day was that the quality and breed type was very mixed, head size and shape was mostly good, toplines were not so good, size was also problematic. I was delighted with my major winners and would like to say thank you to all the very sporting exhibitors who showed their dogs under such trying conditions.
