Judging Summary for Mrs Joyce Manton
UK Appointments since January 2000

| A good entry of 103 dogs making 110 entries for this lovely oriental breed. Presentation in general was excellent, and all dogs were in good condition. Some poor mouths, and sadly quite a few eyes showing an undesirable amount of white, and some of which were rather protuberant. It was difficult to find that high tail to match the head, as many dogs, although having a high tailset, carried their tails flat on their backs, seemingly a trend not restricted to the UK, but one that spoils the overall picture and balance of the dogs. Some also lacked muscle; perhaps more emphasis on exercise rather than coat may be appropriate. On the up side, temperaments were in the main, excellent, and my placed dogs really pleased with their type, strength in movement, and arrogant bearing. Thank you to my excellent stewards, and to the sporting exhibitors who gave me a lovely start to my day. |
