Thank you to the Shih Tzu Club of UK for this kind invitation to judge the breed with CC for the first time. And a big thank you to all exhibitors today for my lovely entry! Thank you to my super steward who sorted me out all day. I found some classes difficult to judge to a type as it was so varied. Some heads on the smaller side, narrow underjaws and dirty teeths among tight nostrils and some weak pastern. Toplines also in many could have been much better. I have judged the breed in so many countries since 2002, and I see the same problems everywhere. Worth to be discussed at The World Congress for the breed in UK in 2019 I think. All dogs clean and well presented on the day. I should actually liked to have a bigger ring, a bit small for some large classes today. I was very pleased with my lineup for best dog and bith. All well constructed and sound Shih-tzus with all the important breed points in the right place.Thank you for my beautiful judges gift, and for the kind hospitalty given to my friend Nina and me. Matthew Russell, Pat Gregory, Glenda Gilkes and Stuart Keay. Thank you for looking after us so well. A well run show! I really enjoyed my day judging some beautiful Shih-tzus! |
