| Best of Breed, DCC, 1st OD | 2024 | Paignton | Mrs V Williams-Wegmann | This was a glorious class with 3 very worthy dogs that was my privilege to judge, all lovely individual types representing the best of mature dogs here. DCC & BOB. Top Quality dog and my eye drawn to him as soon as he came into the ring. Breedy old fashioned type with gorgeous high tea pot tail, thick double well prepared gold/white coat with shawl. Mature broad skull, large round dark expressive eyes, liked his top of nose leather directly level with bottom eye rim, plenty dark pigments around eyes, nose, mouth. I stood back to admire his breedy silhouette. Strong jaw with level lips. Nice arch of neck leads to well laid shoulder, short strong legs, broad chest, body is slightly longer than high, sturdy with plenty of bone and substance throughout, retains his level topline on the move, is sound each way fore and aft shows plenty back pad when motoring around. I remember him as a young dog when I awarded him a RDCC as I could see his potential then. Now he is 5 and living the dream. |

Absolutely beautiful dog. He catches the eye on entering the ring. He is so well put together. A broad head ample muzzle excellent nose placement dark expressive eye. His expression is to die for, so arrogant. Well laid shoulders, chest broad, good bone and sturdy throughout. Neck of good length. Level topline. Tail carried level to head producing a good balance. He moves soundly with such drive covering the ground with ease. He is presented in such a beautiful coat of lovely condition. Credit to his owner Dog CC and Best of Breed. |

Still a young boy who has had so many excellent comments said about him. For me he has so much breed type qualities he can’t be denied, on going over him he lived up to everything I hoped for. On first look you see a beautiful profile with a gorgeous head piece and correct tail set and carriage shown and presented in a quality jacket. Beautiful large round dark eyes set correctly, correct nose and ear placement, correct width to jaw. Strong neck leading into good lay of shoulders, short straight legs, good width and depth to chest, well sprung ribs with good length, short loin, good substance, bone and width throughout, correct tail set and carriage. This young dog comes into his own on the move covered the ground easily with a level top line with strong reach and drive showing full pad. A pleasure to award him his 6th DCC. In the challenge for BOB, he came in to his own showing his air of superiority over us all, moving round the ring like a King. This young male has so many breed attributes that if used in a breeding program should pass on so many of the qualities the breed is losing so quickly. DCC, BOB, BIS. |

Have always admired this young man from the ringside since he first graced the show ring. At last I got the chance to assess him and I wasn’t disappointed. He stands there and demands attention, he certainly has that ‘look at me’ factor. Lovely head and expression, well arched neck going into good shoulders, then to a level topline (one could eat a meal off). Well sprung ribs, good bone and plenty of muscle tone. Really good bend of stifle. Wonderful tail set and carriage. Maintains his shape at all times. As for movement, it is a real joy to behold, he really floats like on air. Shown in fabulous jacket as always from this kennel. Extremely well handled. My great pleasure to award him Dog C.C. Sure there are many more to come. |

He has good substance throughout, shown in a quality jacket of correct texture. This male came into his own on the move as he powered round the ring with ease head held high showing full pad keeping a level top line, wonderful tail carriage. Standing his silhouette was perfect. His arrogance set him above us mere mortals, he only has eyes for his owner. Another quality dog from this kennel. Beautifully presented. Dog CC and BOB I later found out this was his 3rd and crowning CC, I was reminded at the end of judging I gave his older brother the Res CC in 2018 |

Masculine headpiece with good breadth to his rounded skull, large round eyes of good colour and placement, excellent nostrils, muzzle of good width and correct dentition. Nicely arched neck of correct length to balance, firm topline, lovely rib, muscular loin and tail just right for set and carriage. Super front assembly and firm muscular hindquarters which gives rise to sound, free action and one who uses himself to advantage when gaiting. Quality coat and so very well presented. |

Arrogant expression. Strong well-muscled neck to carry that large head, particularly on the move, this put him above 2 in my placings. Huge barrelled rib cage well encased by sturdy almost straight legs, good top line, tail set and carriage. Enthusiastic on the move, could have moved a little slower and would still have shown his good attributes. RCC |

He has a profuse jacket of correct texture which is excellently presented. His overall balance and bone structure are of a very high standard. Lovely domed head and a warm expression. Grand neck leading to a level top line. Moves with purpose showing his superb bend of stifle. Very pleased to start this young man off with his first CC and Best in show. |

Good nose placement and pigment. Level topline, well balanced throughout, good in front and rear. Considered for higher honours but I just preferred the overall showmanship of RDCC. Shown and handled to advantage. |
