Super head with an arrogant soft expression, round dark eye, good nose placement with the widest of jaws. Strong neck, level topline, deep chest, well ribbed and short loin. His high tail carriage gives him a lovely balance which he keeps on the move. He covers the ground with ease with a good reach and strong driving action. Well-handled and presented. DCC & BOB |

Dog CC, 1st OD | 2018 | Shih Tzu Club of Wales & West | Mr M Russell | Loved this gold and white male for his breed type. Lovely dog of a good size while still carrying plenty of substance. Lovely, classical shape of no exaggeration. Such a lovely masculine head with melting expression. Very good nose placement and wide jaw. Well arched neck and strong topline leading to a good tailset. Lovely shoulders complimenting a well angulated rear, resulting in sound movement. Good coat and presented beautifully. All this resulted in being awarded the CC, which I believe is his second. I do not think it will be a long wait for his third and crowning CC, as he is such a deserving champion. |
2nd Open Dog | 2018 | Birmingham | Mr T Wareing | I’ve been fortunate to watch this gold and white dog closely over recent times and have thoroughly enjoyed his well-deserved progression to champion status. Another classic-looking, broad masculine head, showing round dark eyes, set apart with quality wide muzzle. correct width at both ends and moved well around the ring. Preferred the fuller matured body of today’s class winner but pushed him close. |
Best in Show, DCC, 1st OD | 2018 | Manchu Shih Tzu Society | Mr J Carter | G/w. He came in the ring and looked and moved great, in top condition and fully matured. Has a super head set on correct neck and body, level back, strong hindquarters which he used well in his movement so sound, a lovely ambassador of the breed, he was made up last week, I could not refuse him his 4th CC and BIS. |
Best in Show, DCC, 1st OD | 2018 | Northern Counties Shih Tzu Club | Mr S Brown | A lovely class to judge.G/W. Simply stunning in head. Broad, with large dark eyes, well spaced and with a lovely mouth and upturned nose , he is just what I love. He has the correct lenth of leg,. Level topline, longer than high and a well set tail. He’s in super coat and condition and a picture standing. Moved freely both ways. I was pleased to award him the CC and BIS. Well done on his title. |
Dog RCC, 2nd OD | 2018 | Manchester | Mr A Wight | I just loved the head, eyes and expression on this extremely high quality example of the breed. I liked everything about him, he is well ribbed and firmly muscled, carried his tail correctly and moves around the ring showing good hock action. I had to nit pick to split these two and I felt he just did not quite keep his backline as firmly as the winner as they went around together. But surely a real contender for top honours. 3 |
Dog RCC, 1st LD | 2017 | LKA | Mrs S Pointon | Another difficult class,G/w, took my eye when he entered the ring, and was not disappointed upon closer inspection, fabulous head and expression (sweet yet arrogant), super dark pigment, nicely arched neck, sound firm well-boned frame, short muscular legs, super topline, well set tail, sailed round the ring effortlessly with good carriage reach and drive, sympathetically handled. RDCC. |
Dog RCC, 1st LD | 2017 | Joint Shih Tzu Clubs | What can I say except Hurrah! I fell in love with this gentleman which I could have taken home. I loved everything about him and he impressed with a fabulous head and a perfect expression. I know teeth don’t matter that much in a Shih Tzu as long as they don’t show the tongue, but you have to give a few extra points to a boy which has a perfect bite with a straight and wide under jaw. It was a joy to see God of Thunder on the move and I gave him the RCC. Looking into the stars I can’t see that it will take long before he gains his title. | |

He is possessed of a quality headpiece with a round skull with some width between the eyes, a square, short muzzle with wide nostrils, a noticeable chin and high set ears. His back is level and strong, the quarters firm and his feet are round and well-padded. |
