The History Of The Shih Tzu is Gay Widdrington's legacy to the breed. Written by a lady whose Lhakang kennel was involved with and had a significant influence on Shih Tzu almost from the time of their arrival in the West, it explores how Shih Tzu developed in China & Tibet and subsequently in the West since their arrival in the 1930's up to the 1980's. The World of Dogs - Shih Tzu

Widely known amongst exhibitors as the Shih Tzu 'Bible', this is a wonderful reference resource for pet and show owners and considered by many to be the most complete Shih Tzu text. Written by our late Club President. This book is currently out of print although limited copies can be found online or can be ordered through the Hon Secretary.

This is a lovely video presented by a long-standing, successful breeder, exhibitor and judge, Sue Crossley, who has bred many quality champions. In the first part of the video Sue shows you the best way to bath, condition and dry the Shih Tzu coat to conserve it and keep it in peak condition. No trimming required here except for the feet. Sue then goes on to demonstrate a neat way of finishing the top knot for show. The final part of the video shows how to clipper a pet or retired kennel dog so that he/she retains the breed's unique character.
