Shih Tzu Breed Notes 12th September 2026
Hi everyone, I hope you are all keeping well, I have some very sad news for you all as I understand Our Dogs Paper is closing down, and this will be the last edition of my breed notes to be published in the newspaper. I have enjoyed writing for you all and working with the Our Dogs team. I feel really sorry for those who will lose their jobs because of this closure. I understand they will still try to run a Facebook page and carry-on selling publications while stocks last. All dog show critiques will now need to be put onto the RKC Judges Critique website by Judges, so hopefully you will all be able to access those yourselves. I am hoping to continue to let you all know about the results from the open shows etc. as long as my kind reporters send me the results.
My Thanks to all who have sent me open and Premier open show results for the notes, throughout the year they really help to give a better idea of what is happening around the country. A photo of the catalogue would be great and then nobody is left out. I hope to have some more show reports for the Shih Tzu club database from those judges who have not submitted them so far. The Shih Tzu Club Database will now cover all breed club Open shows as well as the Championship shows with the help and co-operation of the breed clubs, who will hopefully pass on the critiques as well as a copy or scan of their full catalogues, this enabling me to add them to the database. I am hoping to be able to do a weekly blog on the website to continue to bring you the breed news each week.
Adam Crossley has been working really hard to upgrade the Shih Tzu Club Database to allow us to show all of the breed club open show results as well as more pedigree details and information, using an expensive software programme and a lot of time and effort. Donations would be welcomed towards the cost of the software that will make all of our experiences better using and keeping this special resource for the breed. Westmoreland County Show on 10th September our judge was All-rounder Debbie Flemming and her choice for BOB was Jacky Moore’s G/W dog Ch Unstoppable Alpiu Slenis To Jaxtzu JW OSW(ImpLTU) Bred by Andrina Tunaityte and sired by Ch. Vanity Lake Mr Miracle (Int) x Lady Luck Your Grace Alpiu Slenis, he went on to Utility group 2. Best Puppy went to Magdalena Skawska’s homebred gold bitch Mapimakastar Nadia Jo Rio sired by Norboo Bobby Dazzler Of Mapimakastar JW x Jolly Oziresun at Mapimakastar (Imp).
Kington Horse Show 12th September our judge was breed specialist Magdalena Skawska and her choice for BOB was Rachel Spencer Down and Catherine Stevenson’s G/W bitch Shenleyvale Simply Ther Zest At Evieshu, bred by Catherine Stevenson and sired by Ch Art Made Gene Kelly x Shenleyvale Touch of Frost. She also won AV Utility Special Yearling under Tracey Leese and Rachel & Delilah Spencer Down’s B/W bitch Chanikos Harper Seven At Evieshu JW bred by Ann Spooner and sired by Shirkeira Valente x Chanikos My Wildest Dream. Went on to win a large stakes class under Naomi Cowley.
Burnley & Dis CS 12th September Our Judge was all-rounder Mandy Morton (Andronja) her choice for BOB was Dave Provost’s G/W dog Paliden Magic Star Bred by Denise & Paul Williams and sired by Paliden Shine Like A Star X Paliden Inca Gold for Anbarees. RBOB & Best Puppy went to Paula Kenny & Suzanne Keree-Bartolo’s homebred B/W bitch Shirkeira Ab Fabulous sired by Ethelsmead Bak To The Future of Chanikos x Joll Sweet Dreams Baby with Shirkeira. She went on the get Puppy Utility group 2 under the group judge Shaun Williamson.
This was sadly Richmond Championship Shows last show at Loseley Park, Guildford, before it moves next year to Stoneleigh from November 2027.
Richmond Ch Show 12th September Our judge was all-rounder Wendy Cain. Her choice for BOB & The Bitch CC went to Margaret Diffey’s homebred G/W bitch Ch Marhilway Explorer The Edge sired by Ch Jacquinta Let’s Go Andy JW x Marhilway Dancing Edge, The Dog CC went to John & Debbie Willett’s homebred B/W dog Debeaux Magic In The Making sired by Saffron Sherhy Oriental Love x Debeaux Say What You See. The Reserve Bitch CC went to Hollie Wood’s G/W bitch Densown Fanta Fizz To Ralphina JW Bred by Dennis Smith and sired by Hot Chilli Sweet Addict At Densown (ImpPol) x Malaga Arssamandi Astarte Gold At Densown (Imp Pol). The Reserve Dog CC went to Jean & Jessie Smith’s G/W dog Freakshow Opulence Above All At Showshoes JW (ImpESP) bred by Mr N Herero Alamillos. Best Puppy in Breed and Best Puppy Dog went to Jackie & Dave Bowns’ B/W dog Cedarhythe Up To No Good With Bishbow bred by Fleur Clifford and sired by Ch Polmac Ice Road Trucker of Shorestar x Cedarhythe Cud It Be Majic. He went on to get Utility Puppy Group 3 under the Puppy Group Judge Patsy Hollins. Best Puppy Bitch went to Jackie Sullivan’s Homebred Solid Black Bitch Jacquinta Moonlight Shadow sired by Marhilway Driving Edge At Jacquinta x Santosha Black Charm Ay Jacquinta. Best Veteran went to Michelle Salt’s homebred B/W bitch Keola Tailor Maide sired by Debeaux Coopersrain Mr Marvellous x Keola One Last Time.
Also at Richmond Jill Baldwin’s G/W bitch Snowshoes Lady Penelope For Maili won the Agria Sponsored Junior Stakes Class under all-rounder Jeff Horswell along with a £25 prize money, she was bred by Jean & Jessie Smith and sired by Hot Chilli Sweet Addict At Densown (Imp Pol) x Densown Valencia.
Wrexham & District KS 13th September, 75th Anniversary Premier show our judge is all-rounder Joe Smith. His choice for BOB and BPIB was Jeanette Marina’s G/W dog Santosha I Am The One At Marinbox, bred by Susan & David Crossley and sired by Ch Santosha Cool Hand Luke x Senousi What Dress For Santosha.
Sheringham & District Premier Open show 13th September our judge is all rounder Sue Butterfield (Chequerpei).her choice for BOB was Jacky Moore’s G/W dog Ch Unstoppable Alpiu Slenis To Jaxtzu JW OSW(ImpLTU) Bred by Andrina Tunaityte and sired by Ch. Vanity Lake Mr Miracle (Int) x Lady Luck Your Grace Alpiu Slenis. And BPIB went to Magdalena Skawska’s homebred gold bitch Mapimakastar Nadia Jo Rio sired by Norboo Bobby Dazzler Of Mapimakastar JW x Jolly Oziresun at Mapimakastar (Imp). Today she gained her last pint for her Junior Warrant. Her litter sister Mapimakastar Naila Jol Reio won a big AV Junior stakes class of 38 entries.

We also have a change of judge for the STC in October due to ill health Mr Henrik Johansson has had to step down, our replacement judge will be Lena Persson. And the Judge for BUBA on 5th December is Albert Easdon.
The RKC Good Citizen classes The Royal Kennel Club actively encourages participation in these classes to promote responsible ownership and bridge the gap between pet training and competitive showing. These classes are open to any dog who has passed at least the bronze level good citizen’s test. but is also open to those who have worked hard and reached silver and gold levels. There are no other restrictions on the entries for this class.
Kirsty Tod has asked me to let everyone know that she is collating shows with Breed Specialists and asks if anyone finds one or is judging themselves please let her know so she can add it to her list. You can either message her on FB or send the show name date and judge to Kirsty.tod@gmail.com
If you have a new puppy or a dog that is not on the Database, please send me the details and pedigree etc. and I will try to enter them for you. So, the details are ready for when you are placed at a Ch show.
